Margaret Berkland is the president of Data Vision Design, Inc., which specializes in providing IT solutions to the legal community. The user is offered 36 subjects from which to choose in searching. The user can also search by keyword. alba36.com uses “Quickbrowse” technology on its results or link pages to combine several websites within a master page. alba36.com contains subject specific link collections, regional and country specific link collections, general link collections (and the directories and search engines in these same categories), most renowned sites of information, most useful websites, most popular websites, and the most “bizarre* websites.

ECOLEX

ECOLEX seeks to provide global access to environmental law information. ECOLEX is a joint project of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and The World Conservation Union (IUCN). There are seven databases on the site: multilateral treaties, international soft law and related documents, instruments of the European Union, national legislation, law and policy literature, court decisions, and fauna and flora. Users can keyword search the databases or browse by subject, jurisdiction, jurisdictional field of application, judge, or date. In most cases the website is available in English and Spanish and publication information about documents is provided when the text is not available.

HTML Station

HTML Station provides demonstrations (padded table, frames, etc.), tutorials, codes (safe color codes, domain codes, etc.), specification summaries (i.e. CSS1), techniques/technologies descriptions (ActiveX), and supporting information about HTMO and related technologies. LOOKOFF searches for topical and specific search engines. There is a topical directory to guide you to search engines in your area of interest. Scirus

This site allows you to preview the new scientific information search engine developed by Elsevier Science. The search engine is powered by FAST Search and Transfer. The site will officially launch in March 2001. Both simple keyword and advanced searches are offered. The search results screen tells you the number of documents found, whether the document can be freely accessed or has restricted access. You can select to view more results of similar documents or e-mail the result to someone. Suggested terms for refining your search are listed at the bottom of each search result page.
