The Cheney Energy Task Force

These Natural Resources Defense Council web pages make available some of the documents from the Cheney Energy Task Force. The documents were obtained through the Freedom of Information Act and are heavily redacted. Review and analysis of the task force proceedings are included on the pages. In its mission statement the Natural Resources Defense Council’s states that its “purpose is to safeguard the Earth: its people, its plants and animals and the natural systems on which all life depends.”

The Daily Enron

This website with information and opinion on the Enron bankruptcy is maintained by American Family Voices. American Family Voices states that it “was founded in 2000 to be a strong voice for middle and low income families on economic, health care, and consumer issues.” Protections for pension and retirement funds are among the issues for which it pushes for legislation and on which it seeks to educate the public. Photocopied Enron documents (supposedly legitimate) are featured on the website as well as newsroom articles, and background information on Enron.

This website offers access to audio interviews with nonfiction and fiction authors. You can browse by genre, alphabetically by author, or alphabetically by book title. You can listen by using RealAudio or Windows Media and links to download both are provided. Links to authors’ websites are provided if available as well as a link to if you wish to purchase a book. You can also listen to interviews with authors on the art of writing and view a photo gallery of authors. Bill Thompson is a newscaster and interviewer with WBIG-FM Oldies 100 in Washington, D.C.
