Margaret Berkland is the president of Data Vision Design, Inc., which specializes in providing IT solutions to the legal community. This search engine allows you to search for large sections of text rather than keywords. A search query is treated as an entire document. A search returns a list of “documents that contain any fragment of that document that is longer than a certain length. That length is about one line of text.” You can access the web pages of the documents returned by the search or display them side by side with the search text. You can also enter the URL of a document and the search will return a few sentences from that page. It is suggested that the site could be used to check to be certain that you have the latest version of a document.

Resources included on the site must meet four criteria: “quality, accuracy of content, presentation, and utility.” The visitor can search using keyword or concept. Libdex claims to be a worldwide directory of library homepages, web-based OPACs, Friends of the Library pages, and library e-commerce affiliate links. It does not include links to terminal-based OPACs. Library entries provide links to the library homepage and web catalog, library name, type of library, city, and country. The index can be browsed by country, Friends of Libraries, and OPAC vendor. You can keyword search for libraries.
